عثمان بن سعيد بن عثمان بن عمر أبو عمرو الداني، نسبة إلى دانية إحدى مدن الأندلس، القرطبي الأموي بالولاء، المعروف في زمانه بالصيرفي، الإمام العلامة الحافظ شيخ مشايخ المقرئين. دخل المشرق فحج وزار مصر وعاد إلى بلاده فتوفي بها.
له عدة مؤلفات منها : التيسير؛ المقنع؛ جامع البيان؛ الوقف والابتداء؛ البيان في عد آي القرآن؛ المحكم في النقط.
