علي بن أحمد بن محمد بن علي الواحدي، النيسابوري، الشافعي (أبو الحسن) مفسر، نحوي، لغوي، فقيه شاعر، إخباري.
أصله من ساوه، ومن أولاد التجار.
توفي بنيسابور في جمادى الآخرة، وقد شاخ.
من تصانيفه: «البسيط» في نحو 16 مجلدا في التفسير، «المغازي»، «شرح ديوان المتنبي»، «الإغراب في الإعراب»، و«نفي التحريف عن القرآن الشريف».
