Al-Israa · Surah 17
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَسْرَىٰ بِعَبْدِهِۦ لَيْلاً مِّنَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ إِلَى ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْأَقْصَا ٱلَّذِى بَـٰرَكْنَا حَوْلَهُۥ لِنُرِيَهُۥ مِنْ ءَايَـٰتِنَآۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْبَصِيرُ 1
وَءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ هُدًى لِّبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٲٓءِيلَ أَلَّا تَتَّخِذُواْ مِن دُونِى وَكِيلاً 2
ذُرِّيَّةَ مَنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَبْدًا شَكُورًا 3
وَقَضَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٲٓءِيلَ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لَتُفْسِدُنَّ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَلَتَعْلُنَّ عُلُوًّا كَبِيرًا 4
فَإِذَا جَآءَ وَعْدُ أُولَـٰهُمَا بَعَثْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ عِبَادًا لَّنَآ أُوْلِى بَأْسٍ شَدِيدٍ فَجَاسُواْ خِلَـٰلَ ٱلدِّيَارِۚ وَكَانَ وَعْدًا مَّفْعُولاً 5
ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَا لَكُمُ ٱلْكَرَّةَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَمْدَدْنَـٰكُم بِأَمْوَٲلٍ وَبَنِينَ وَجَعَلْنَـٰكُمْ أَكْثَرَ نَفِيرًا 6
إِنْ أَحْسَنتُمْ أَحْسَنتُمْ لِأَنفُسِكُمْۖ وَإِنْ أَسَأْتُمْ فَلَهَاۚ فَإِذَا جَآءَ وَعْدُ ٱلْأَخِرَةِ لِيَسُــۥٓــُٔواْ وُجُوهَكُمْ وَلِيَدْخُلُواْ ٱلْمَسْجِدَ كَمَا دَخَلُوهُ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَلِيُتَبِّرُواْ مَا عَلَوْاْ تَتْبِيرًا 7
سُبْحَـٰنَsub'ḥānaExaltedٱلَّذِىٓalladhī(is) the One WhoأَسْرَىٰasrātookبِعَبْدِهِۦbiʿabdihiHis servantلَيْلًۭاlaylan(by) nightمِّنَminafromٱلْمَسْجِدِl-masjidiAl-Masjid Al-Haraamٱلْحَرَامِl-ḥarāmiAl-Masjid Al-Haraamإِلَىilātoٱلْمَسْجِدِl-masjidiAl-Masjid Al-Aqsaٱلْأَقْصَاl-aqṣāAl-Masjid Al-AqsaٱلَّذِىalladhīwhichبَـٰرَكْنَاbāraknāWe blessedحَوْلَهُۥḥawlahuits surroundingsلِنُرِيَهُۥlinuriyahuthat We may show himمِنْminofءَايَـٰتِنَآ ۚāyātināOur SignsإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed HeهُوَhuwaHeٱلسَّمِيعُl-samīʿu(is) the All-Hearerٱلْبَصِيرُl-baṣīruthe All-Seer
17:1
وَءَاتَيْنَاwaātaynāAnd We gaveمُوسَىmūsāMusaٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Bookوَجَعَلْنَـٰهُwajaʿalnāhuand made itهُدًۭىhudana guidanceلِّبَنِىٓlibanīfor the Childrenإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَis'rāīla(of) IsraelأَلَّاallāThat notتَتَّخِذُوا۟tattakhidhūyou takeمِنminother than Meدُونِىdūnīother than Meوَكِيلًۭاwakīlan(as) a Disposer of affairs
17:2
ذُرِّيَّةَdhurriyyataOffspringsمَنْman(of one) whoحَمَلْنَاḥamalnāWe carriedمَعَmaʿawithنُوحٍ ۚnūḥinNuhإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, heكَانَkānawasعَبْدًۭاʿabdana servantشَكُورًۭاshakūrangrateful
17:3
وَقَضَيْنَآwaqaḍaynāAnd We decreedإِلَىٰilāforبَنِىٓbanī(the) Childrenإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَis'rāīla(of) Israelفِىfīinٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābithe Bookلَتُفْسِدُنَّlatuf'sidunnaSurely you will cause corruptionفِىfīinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthمَرَّتَيْنِmarrataynitwiceوَلَتَعْلُنَّwalataʿlunnaand surely you will reachعُلُوًّۭاʿuluwwanhaughtinessكَبِيرًۭاkabīrangreat
17:4
فَإِذَاfa-idhāSo whenجَآءَjāacameوَعْدُwaʿdu(the) promiseأُولَىٰهُمَاūlāhumā(for) the first of the twoبَعَثْنَاbaʿathnāWe raisedعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumagainst youعِبَادًۭاʿibādanservantsلَّنَآlanāof Oursأُو۟لِىulīthose of great military mightبَأْسٍۢbasinthose of great military mightشَدِيدٍۢshadīdinthose of great military mightفَجَاسُوا۟fajāsūand they enteredخِلَـٰلَkhilālathe inner most partٱلدِّيَارِ ۚl-diyāri(of) the homesوَكَانَwakānaand (it) wasوَعْدًۭاwaʿdana promiseمَّفْعُولًۭاmafʿūlanfulfilled
17:5
ثُمَّthummaThenرَدَدْنَاradadnāWe gave backلَكُمُlakumuto youٱلْكَرَّةَl-karatathe return victoryعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimover themوَأَمْدَدْنَـٰكُمwa-amdadnākumAnd We reinforced youبِأَمْوَٰلٍۢbi-amwālinwith the wealthوَبَنِينَwabanīnaand sonsوَجَعَلْنَـٰكُمْwajaʿalnākumand made youأَكْثَرَaktharamoreنَفِيرًاnafīrannumerous
17:6
إِنْinIfأَحْسَنتُمْaḥsantumyou do goodأَحْسَنتُمْaḥsantumyou do goodلِأَنفُسِكُمْ ۖli-anfusikumfor yourselvesوَإِنْwa-inand ifأَسَأْتُمْasatumyou do evilفَلَهَا ۚfalahāthen it is for itفَإِذَاfa-idhāSo whenجَآءَjāacameوَعْدُwaʿdupromiseٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhiratithe lastلِيَسُـۥٓـُٔوا۟liyasūūto saddenوُجُوهَكُمْwujūhakumyour facesوَلِيَدْخُلُوا۟waliyadkhulūand to enterٱلْمَسْجِدَl-masjidathe Masjidكَمَاkamājust asدَخَلُوهُdakhalūhuthey (had) entered itأَوَّلَawwalafirstمَرَّةٍۢmarratintimeوَلِيُتَبِّرُوا۟waliyutabbirūand to destroyمَاmāwhatعَلَوْا۟ʿalawthey had conqueredتَتْبِيرًاtatbīran(with) destruction
17:7
