بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
سُورَةٌ أَنزَلْنَـٰهَا وَفَرَضْنَـٰهَا وَأَنزَلْنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَـٰتِۭ بَيِّنَـٰتٍ لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ 1
ٱلزَّانِيَةُ وَٱلزَّانِى فَٱجْلِدُواْ كُلَّ وَٲحِدٍ مِّنْهُمَا مِاْئَةَ جَلْدَةٍۖ وَلَا تَأْخُذْكُم بِهِمَا رَأْفَةٌ فِى دِينِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِۖ وَلْيَشْهَدْ عَذَابَهُمَا طَآئِفَةٌ مِّنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ 2
ٱلزَّانِى لَا يَنكِحُ إِلَّا زَانِيَةً أَوْ مُشْرِكَةً وَٱلزَّانِيَةُ لَا يَنكِحُهَآ إِلَّا زَانٍ أَوْ مُشْرِكٌۚ وَحُرِّمَ ذَٲلِكَ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ 3
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ ٱلْمُحْصَنَـٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَأْتُواْ بِأَرْبَعَةِ شُهَدَآءَ فَٱجْلِدُوهُمْ ثَمَـٰنِينَ جَلْدَةً وَلَا تَقْبَلُواْ لَهُمْ شَهَـٰدَةً أَبَدًاۚ وَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَ 4
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُواْ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٲلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ 5
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ أَزْوَٲجَهُمْ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ شُهَدَآءُ إِلَّآ أَنفُسُهُمْ فَشَهَـٰدَةُ أَحَدِهِمْ أَرْبَعُ شَهَـٰدَٲتِۭ بِٱللَّهِۙ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ 6
وَٱلْخَـٰمِسَةُ أَنَّ لَعْنَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ 7
وَيَدْرَؤُاْ عَنْهَا ٱلْعَذَابَ أَن تَشْهَدَ أَرْبَعَ شَهَـٰدَٲتِۭ بِٱللَّهِۙ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ 8
وَٱلْخَـٰمِسَةَ أَنَّ غَضَبَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهَآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ 9
وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ تَوَّابٌ حَكِيمٌ 10
سُورَةٌsūratunA Surah أَنزَلْنَـٰهَاanzalnāhāWe (have) sent it downوَفَرَضْنَـٰهَاwafaraḍnāhāand We (have) made it obligatoryوَأَنزَلْنَاwa-anzalnāand We (have) revealedفِيهَآfīhāthereinءَايَـٰتٍۭāyātinVersesبَيِّنَـٰتٍۢbayyinātinclearلَّعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you mayتَذَكَّرُونَtadhakkarūnatake heed
24:1
ٱلزَّانِيَةُal-zāniyatuThe fornicatressوَٱلزَّانِىwal-zānīand the fornicatorفَٱجْلِدُوا۟fa-ij'lidū[then] flogكُلَّkullaeachوَٰحِدٍۢwāḥidinoneمِّنْهُمَاmin'humāof themمِا۟ئَةَmi-ata(with) hundredجَلْدَةٍۢ ۖjaldatinlash(es)وَلَاwalāAnd (let) notتَأْخُذْكُمtakhudh'kumwithhold youبِهِمَاbihimāpity for themرَأْفَةٌۭrafatunpity for themفِىfīconcerningدِينِdīni(the) religion of Allahٱللَّهِl-lahi(the) religion of Allahإِنinifكُنتُمْkuntumyouتُؤْمِنُونَtu'minūnabelieveبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiin Allahوَٱلْيَوْمِwal-yawmiand the Dayٱلْـَٔاخِرِ ۖl-ākhirithe LastوَلْيَشْهَدْwalyashhadAnd let witnessعَذَابَهُمَاʿadhābahumātheir punishmentطَآئِفَةٌۭṭāifatuna groupمِّنَminaofٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
24:2
ٱلزَّانِىal-zānīThe fornicatorلَاlā(will) notيَنكِحُyankiḥumarryإِلَّاillāexceptزَانِيَةًzāniyatana fornicatressأَوْaworمُشْرِكَةًۭmush'rikatana polytheist womanوَٱلزَّانِيَةُwal-zāniyatuand the fornicatress لَاlā(will) notيَنكِحُهَآyankiḥuhāmarry herإِلَّاillāexceptزَانٍzānina fornicatorأَوْaworمُشْرِكٌۭ ۚmush'rikuna polytheist manوَحُرِّمَwaḥurrimaAnd is forbiddenذَٰلِكَdhālikathatعَلَىʿalātoٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
24:3
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoيَرْمُونَyarmūnaaccuseٱلْمُحْصَنَـٰتِl-muḥ'ṣanātithe chaste womenثُمَّthummathenلَمْlamnotيَأْتُوا۟yatūthey bringبِأَرْبَعَةِbi-arbaʿatifourشُهَدَآءَshuhadāawitnessesفَٱجْلِدُوهُمْfa-ij'lidūhumthen flog themثَمَـٰنِينَthamānīna(with) eightyجَلْدَةًۭjaldatanlashe(s)وَلَاwalāand (do) notتَقْبَلُوا۟taqbalūacceptلَهُمْlahumtheirشَهَـٰدَةًshahādatantestimonyأَبَدًۭا ۚabadaneverوَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَwa-ulāikaAnd thoseهُمُhumutheyٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَl-fāsiqūna(are) the defiantly disobedient
24:4
إِلَّاillāExceptٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoتَابُوا۟tābūrepentمِنۢminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterذَٰلِكَdhālikathatوَأَصْلَحُوا۟wa-aṣlaḥūand reformفَإِنَّfa-innaThen indeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahغَفُورٌۭghafūrun(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmunMost Merciful
24:5
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoيَرْمُونَyarmūnaaccuseأَزْوَٰجَهُمْazwājahumtheir spousesوَلَمْwalamand notيَكُنyakunhaveلَّهُمْlahumfor themشُهَدَآءُshuhadāuwitnessesإِلَّآillāexceptأَنفُسُهُمْanfusuhumthemselvesفَشَهَـٰدَةُfashahādatuthen (the) testimonyأَحَدِهِمْaḥadihim(of) one of themأَرْبَعُarbaʿu(is) fourشَهَـٰدَٰتٍۭshahādātintestimoniesبِٱللَّهِ ۙbil-lahiby Allahإِنَّهُۥinnahuthat heلَمِنَlamina(is) surely ofٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَl-ṣādiqīnathe truthful
24:6
وَٱلْخَـٰمِسَةُwal-khāmisatuAnd the fifthأَنَّannathatلَعْنَتَlaʿnata(the) curse of Allahٱللَّهِl-lahi(the) curse of Allahعَلَيْهِʿalayhi(be) upon himإِنinifكَانَkānahe isمِنَminaofٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَl-kādhibīnathe liars
24:7
وَيَدْرَؤُا۟wayadra-uBut it would preventعَنْهَاʿanhāfrom herٱلْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishmentأَنanthatتَشْهَدَtashhadashe bears witnessأَرْبَعَarbaʿafourشَهَـٰدَٰتٍۭshahādātintestimoniesبِٱللَّهِ ۙbil-lahiby Allahإِنَّهُۥinnahuthat heلَمِنَlamina(is) surely ofٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَl-kādhibīnathe liars
24:8
وَٱلْخَـٰمِسَةَwal-khāmisataAnd the fifthأَنَّannathatغَضَبَghaḍabathe wrath of Allahٱللَّهِl-lahithe wrath of Allahعَلَيْهَآʿalayhā(be) upon herإِنinifكَانَkānahe isمِنَminaofٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَl-ṣādiqīnathe truthful
24:9
وَلَوْلَاwalawlāAnd if notفَضْلُfaḍlu(for) the Grace of Allahٱللَّهِl-lahi(for) the Grace of Allahعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon youوَرَحْمَتُهُۥwaraḥmatuhuand His Mercy وَأَنَّwa-annaand thatٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahتَوَّابٌtawwābun(is) Oft-Returning (to Mercy)حَكِيمٌḥakīmunAll-Wise
24:10
