Al-An'aam · Surah 6
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَجَعَلَ ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ وَٱلنُّورَۖ ثُمَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمْ يَعْدِلُونَ 1
هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن طِينٍ ثُمَّ قَضَىٰٓ أَجَلاًۖ وَأَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى عِندَهُۥۖ ثُمَّ أَنتُمْ تَمْتَرُونَ 2
وَهُوَ ٱللَّهُ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِۖ يَعْلَمُ سِرَّكُمْ وَجَهْرَكُمْ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْسِبُونَ 3
وَمَا تَأْتِيهِم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍ مِّنْ ءَايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُواْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ 4
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُواْ بِٱلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْۖ فَسَوْفَ يَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُاْ مَا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ 5
أَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن قَرْنٍ مَّكَّنَّـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مَا لَمْ نُمَكِّن لَّكُمْ وَأَرْسَلْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْهِم مِّدْرَارًا وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرَ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهِمْ فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَأَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا ءَاخَرِينَ 6
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ كِتَـٰبًا فِى قِرْطَاسٍ فَلَمَسُوهُ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ لَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ 7
وَقَالُواْ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ مَلَكٌۖ وَلَوْ أَنزَلْنَا مَلَكًا لَّقُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ ثُمَّ لَا يُنظَرُونَ 8
ٱلْحَمْدُal-ḥamdu(All) the praises and thanksلِلَّهِlillahi(be) to Allahٱلَّذِىalladhīthe One Whoخَلَقَkhalaqacreatedٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earthوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand madeٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِl-ẓulumātithe darkness[es]وَٱلنُّورَ ۖwal-nūraand the lightثُمَّthummaThenٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelievedبِرَبِّهِمْbirabbihimin their Lordيَعْدِلُونَyaʿdilūnaequate others with Him
6:1
هُوَhuwaHeٱلَّذِىalladhī(is) the One Whoخَلَقَكُمkhalaqakumcreated youمِّنminfromطِينٍۢṭīninclayثُمَّthummathenقَضَىٰٓqaḍāHe decreedأَجَلًۭا ۖajalana term وَأَجَلٌۭwa-ajalunand a termمُّسَمًّىmusammanspecifiedعِندَهُۥ ۖʿindahuwith Himثُمَّthummayetأَنتُمْantumyouتَمْتَرُونَtamtarūnadoubt
6:2
وَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heٱللَّهُl-lahu(is) Allahفِىfīinٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَفِىwafīand inٱلْأَرْضِ ۖl-arḍithe earthيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuHe knowsسِرَّكُمْsirrakumyour secretوَجَهْرَكُمْwajahrakumand what you make publicوَيَعْلَمُwayaʿlamuand He knowsمَاmāwhatتَكْسِبُونَtaksibūnayou earn
6:3
وَمَاwamāAnd notتَأْتِيهِمtatīhimcomes to themمِّنْmin[of]ءَايَةٍۢāyatinany signمِّنْminfromءَايَـٰتِāyāti(the) Signsرَبِّهِمْrabbihim(of) their Lordإِلَّاillābutكَانُوا۟kānūthey areعَنْهَاʿanhāfrom itمُعْرِضِينَmuʿ'riḍīnaturning away
6:4
فَقَدْfaqadThen indeedكَذَّبُوا۟kadhabūthey deniedبِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqithe truthلَمَّاlammāwhenجَآءَهُمْ ۖjāahumit came to themفَسَوْفَfasawfabut soonيَأْتِيهِمْyatīhimwill come to themأَنۢبَـٰٓؤُا۟anbāunewsمَاmā(of) whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used toبِهِۦbihi[at it]يَسْتَهْزِءُونَyastahziūnamock
6:5
أَلَمْalamDid notيَرَوْا۟yarawthey seeكَمْkamhow manyأَهْلَكْنَاahlaknāWe destroyedمِنminfromقَبْلِهِمqablihimbefore themمِّنminofقَرْنٍۢqarningenerationsمَّكَّنَّـٰهُمْmakkannāhumWe had established themفِىfīinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthمَاmāwhatلَمْlamnotنُمَكِّنnumakkinWe (have) establishedلَّكُمْlakumfor youوَأَرْسَلْنَاwa-arsalnāAnd We sentٱلسَّمَآءَl-samāa(rain from) the skyعَلَيْهِمʿalayhimupon themمِّدْرَارًۭاmid'rāranshowering abundantlyوَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāand We madeٱلْأَنْهَـٰرَl-anhārathe riversتَجْرِىtajrīflowمِنminfromتَحْتِهِمْtaḥtihimunderneath themفَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمfa-ahlaknāhumThen We destroyed themبِذُنُوبِهِمْbidhunūbihimfor their sinsوَأَنشَأْنَاwa-anshanāand We raisedمِنۢminfromبَعْدِهِمْbaʿdihimafter themقَرْنًاqarnangenerationsءَاخَرِينَākharīnaother
6:6
وَلَوْwalawAnd (even) ifنَزَّلْنَاnazzalnāWe (had) sent downعَلَيْكَʿalaykato youكِتَـٰبًۭاkitābana written Scriptureفِىfīinقِرْطَاسٍۢqir'ṭāsina parchmentفَلَمَسُوهُfalamasūhuand they touched itبِأَيْدِيهِمْbi-aydīhimwith their handsلَقَالَlaqālasurely (would) have saidٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُوٓا۟kafarūdisbelievedإِنْinNotهَـٰذَآhādhā(is) thisإِلَّاillābutسِحْرٌۭsiḥ'runmagicمُّبِينٌۭmubīnunclear
6:7
وَقَالُوا۟waqālūAnd they saidلَوْلَآlawlāWhy has not beenأُنزِلَunzilasent downعَلَيْهِʿalayhito himمَلَكٌۭ ۖmalakunan AngelوَلَوْwalawAnd ifأَنزَلْنَاanzalnāWe (had) sent downمَلَكًۭاmalakanan Angelلَّقُضِىَlaquḍiyasurely (would) have been decidedٱلْأَمْرُl-amruthe matterثُمَّthummathenلَاlānoيُنظَرُونَyunẓarūnarespite would have been granted to them
